The larger part of the totem and the base are Jatoba wood. They were removed from the Seattle pier. The second species of wood is Purple Heart. I rescued this peice from a fuel facility in Bethel Alaska. They use Purple Heart dunnage to wedge under massive fuel tanks to keep the off the ground so they don't rust. Both of these woods are native to Central and South America.
